Priscilla | Woodcraft Artisan
Work & Approach
Priscilla McCann is a woodcraft artisan working within the FNB Hobart Makers community. Her practice centres on working with wood — shaping, finishing and bringing considered form to the pieces she makes. The photograph says something about her way of working: hands engaged, workshop around her, a piece held ready.
The specific materials, tools and techniques Priscilla draws on are her own, developed through practice. What can be said is that her work reflects a commitment to making things with care — objects that carry the marks of the hand and the thought behind them.
Her Work, Available
Priscilla's woodcraft pieces may be available through the FNB Hobart Makers shop. Visit the shop to see what is currently listed — stock changes as new work is completed and brought to the table.
Her Place in FNB Hobart Makers
FNB Hobart Makers is a community built around a shared making table — a place where distinct practices sit alongside one another, each contributing something different to the whole. Priscilla brings woodcraft to that table: one clear, considered discipline among others.
The community continues to grow. Alongside established makers like Priscilla, future contributors will bring their own skills and approaches. What holds it together is not uniformity but a shared commitment to making well, and to connecting that making with participation, opportunity and FNB Hobart's mutual-aid work.
